At Sunshine Community Health Center (SCHC), we believe in investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals. Our Student Scholarship Program supports high school seniors pursuing degrees or certificates in health care, behavioral health, and social services by awarding scholarships of up to $2,000.

These scholarships recognize students who have demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and a dedication to wellness, helping to build a stronger health workforce in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley and beyond.

📅 Applications open January 1 – Deadline April 1

💰 Funds awarded in June

📍 Eligible students must reside in zip codes 99676, 99688, or 99683

From Scholarship Recipients to Leaders in Healthcare

Two incredible members of our SCHC team, Sierra Winter and Ronni Spaulding, are living proof of the impact of Sunshine’s commitment to growing our own healthcare workforce.

Sierra Winter – From Student to Community Relations Manager

Sierra Winter started working at SCHC shortly after graduating high school, eager to contribute to her community. With the support of SCHC’s Grow Your Own Program and staff scholarship opportunities, Sierra pursued her degree in Health Care Administration while continuing to work at the clinic.

Today, as Community Relations Manager, Sierra plays a vital role in building connections, raising awareness, and advocating for accessible healthcare in our communities. Her journey showcases how SCHC not only supports students at the start of their careers but also helps them grow into leaders within the organization.

Ronni Spaulding – A Staff Scholarship Success Story

Ronni Spaulding, now serving as Executive Assistant at SCHC, is another shining example of how our scholarship programs change lives. As a recipient of Sunshine’s Staff Scholarship Program, Ronni was able to further her education while working at SCHC. With dedication and support, she advanced in her career, taking on greater responsibilities and making a meaningful impact within the organization.

Ronni’s story highlights how investing in education and professional development creates opportunities for individuals to grow within SCHC, benefiting both employees and the communities we serve.

A Brighter Future Starts Here

If you’re a high school senior passionate about healthcare, this scholarship could be the first step toward achieving your dreams—just like it was for Sierra and Ronni. Sunshine CHC is committed to helping students succeed, whether they’re just starting their education or growing in their careers.

Don’t miss this opportunity! Apply before April 1 and take the first step toward a rewarding future in healthcare.
