What is the Four A's

The Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association provides supportive services to persons living with HIV/AIDS and works to eliminate the transmission of HIV and the associated stigma.

How does it work?

FASAP is a confidential walk-in service. Here is what you can expect:

  • Bring your used syringes and receive new syringes and supplies.

  • They accept loose syringes and syringes in puncture-proof containers (aka sharps containers, Gatorade and detergent bottles, etc.).

  • They will not accept any trash (bags, boxes, etc.).

  • If you do not have any syringes to dispose of, they can provide 10 syringes. They generally offer 1-for-1 exchanges depending on funding.

  • To receive funding for this program, the Four A's are required to collect demographic information (gender, age, race, etc.).

  • Participants are assigned a FASAP ID (First and last Initials + Full Date of Birth). ID information is NEVER to be shared with anyone else and is solely for FASAP use.

The Four A's Program asks for a $1.00 dollar donation per exchange to help supplement program costs and purchase more supplies.
