Donations

Updated: Aug 20

Sunshine Community Health Center (SCHC) is dedicated to improving the healthcare services available to the Upper Susitna Valley. With over 50% of our patients uninsured and 36% living below the poverty line, we strive to support the underserved in our community. Your generous donations help us provide essential programs and services beyond the office visit. Here’s how your contributions make a difference:

Families in Crisis

Sunshine Community Health Center is pleased to announce that in coordination with community organizations, we are able to provide Families in Crisis funding to assist members in the Trapper Creek, Talkeetna, and Willow communities. You do not need to be an established patient to apply for this service.

Your submission goes directly to behavioral health staff who will contact you directly to obtain additional details pertaining to your situation and begin working with you to identify how Families in Crisis funding can help. If you prefer to speak to a staff member directly, please contact our behavioral health department at 1-907-733-9292.

Back to School Supplies

Each year, Sunshine Community Health Center collaborates with the Northern Valley Health Coalition to provide free back-to-school supplies for Northern Valley students. Thanks to grants and donations, we ensure that children from families with limited budgets have the necessary supplies to start the school year confidently, so no student feels excluded.

Su-Valley Scholarships

Our Su-Valley Scholarships aim to support individuals pursuing higher education in health and human services. These scholarships are designed to promote the understanding and appreciation of community healthcare in rural areas, recognizing academic achievements, leadership, and contributions to community wellness.

Staff Scholarships

We also offer scholarships to our staff members to support their continued education, enhancing their ability to serve our community effectively. Applications are reviewed and voted on by our dedicated Board of Directors, ensuring that our team has the resources they need to provide excellent care.

Expanding Services

As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we adhere to specific requirements and regulations. While insurance covers many services, it does not always meet every need. Your donations help bridge the gap, allowing us to offer additional services that enhance the health and well-being of our community.

Community Needs

SCHC is committed to giving back to our community. We support various local programs and initiatives, ensuring that our contributions have a far-reaching impact.

All donations are tax-deductible. Sunshine Community Health Center Inc. EIN#: 92-0117838
