Sunshine Community Health Center has a limited dispensary that stocks medications for the treatment of some acute conditions. We can provide short-term supplies of medications used for chronic illness management in order to bridge patients until they can get regular supplies from their pharmacy. We can also arrange to have medications delivered to our clinic for local pick up from a pharmacy in Wasilla. However, no controlled substances are delivered to or stored in the clinic. We are unable to fill prescriptions from Providers of other facilities since we are not a pharmacy.
Refills
For refills, please contact your pharmacy, or leave a message on the refill line. Please remember that it may take 3 working days to process your request. Medications delivered to the clinic from Three Bears pharmacy can be picked up on Thursday. Please consider the timing of this process when requesting your refill.
Needy Meds
We know that sometimes necessary medications can be expensive. Various drug companies have programs that provide medications to patients for little or no charge if the patient is unable to afford the medication and does not have any prescription coverage. The drug companies set the income requirements for these programs. Please let us know if we can assist you with this process.
Needy Meds Eligibility
If you meet the limited income requirements and have:
Health insurance but no prescription coverage
Medicare with no prescription coverage
You may be eligible for the Needy Meds Program.
If you have the following coverage, you may not be eligible for the Needy Meds Program:
Medicaid
Health insurance that covers medications
The drug companies require that a patient obtain assistance from their healthcare provider to apply for the Needy Medications Program.
Please note there is a $6 per prescription administration fee for Needy Medications.
